Some love stories begin with a single, quiet step.

For Kaitlyn and Adam, it began at the DC Marriage License Bureau on a summer afternoon. We stayed back and waited for the moment they walked out the door together, hand in hand, carrying something new between them. They didn’t need to pose. It was just two people realizing that the life they had been dreaming about had already started.

After an outfit change, we explored the museum’s elegant architecture, grand hallways, and softly lit galleries. The National Gallery of Art is one of our favorite locations for engagement photography in Washington DC, offering a sophisticated backdrop for couples who appreciate timeless, editorial imagery.

Throughout their two-hour engagement session, we balanced thoughtfully composed editorial portraits with natural, unscripted moments. From quiet embraces to effortless laughter, our goal was to capture Kaitlyn and Adam’s connection in a way that felt both refined and authentic.

With their wedding invitations in mind, we created a collection of images that combined classic elegance with modern editorial storytelling. Every photograph was carefully edited in our signature true-to-color style, preserving natural skin tones, beautiful light, and the atmosphere of each moment.

Kaitlyn later shared how much she loved their photographs while planning their wedding and designing their invitations. Knowing these images would become part of such a meaningful chapter in their lives made this session even more special.
